Kiss You Kiss Me | Short Poem No. 35

I just want to start off saying that I want to kiss you –

no use trying to hide it.

Let’s get right to the point

and I think you want to kiss me, too.

I could smell you when I walked into the hall.

Every step up the stairs

was a step closer to you.

Every step, my heart begins to fall.

I wouldn’t trade you for the world.

You’re my one and only,

always and forever,

because you are my world.

So let’s end this day together

like two kids still in love.

And as I hold you close,

you couldn’t be better.

And we kiss each others’ lips.

We float off into another heaven.

I’m lost in you

and away, everything else slowly drifts.

Are there Tears in Heaven? | Short Poem No. 34

Are there tears in Heaven?

I closed my eyes and breathed the air.

I stepped outside for the first time this week.

The long drive to work took far too long.

Will everyone see I’m so weak?

All my friends asked how I am.

But I’m just numb, living in my skin.

I nod my head, “I’m getting better now.”

It’s just a lie I’m living in.

I sat in my office and lost a tear.

And I called your name, but you’re not here.

I called your name, but you’re not here.

Are there tears in heaven?

Minutes pass like hours, hours like days.

But time is meaningless, a long dream.

A horrible illusion that I’ll never wake from.

This is real, more real than I want it to be.

I drove home and lost a tear.

And I called your name but you’re not here.

How long can you stare at the ceiling and feel nothing?

Can anything take this pain away?

I’m lost in my hurt and the world spins on.

I sit alone and finish the day.

I laid down and lost a tear.

And I called your name but you’re not here.

I wrote this down. . . and lost a tear. . .

And you’re still not here.

“You [God] keep track of all my sorrows. . . collected all my tears in your bottle. . . recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8 NLT

Love Ride or Die | Short Poem No. 33

It’s all love ride or die.

Sometimes I’m here, but sometimes I’m not.

On this rollercoaster of love, we’re at the top.

What comes next, you know we’ll go down.

We’ll take a few turns, we’ll be upside down.

That’s where we’ll start to question, “Why are we here?”

Tell me do you question, “Why are we here?”

love ride or die

I heard you scream and yell,

no use trying to hide it.

I think I yelled too (can’t remember).

Time was flying by, January to December.

That’s when we started to question, “Why are we here?”

Tell me do you question, “Why are we here?”

This is why we’re here, so don’t have any fear.

This is why we’re here, I hope I make that clear (it’s love).

So hold on baby, it’s up and it’s down.

But I won’t let you go, even when we’re upside-down.

I won’t let you go.

I won’t let you go.

Life is a ride, it won’t finish until we’re dead.

But I promise that you’ll have me, even when we see red.

Every twist and turn, we’ll scream through this together.

I thought I told you, we’ll storm any weather.

So when we question, “Why are we here?”

This is why we’re here, I hope I made that clear (it’s love).
