Fragrance Poetry inspired by Full Incense from Montale.

Swaying incense imitates pendulums.
The back-and-forth, swaying like memories.
Priceless moments, suddenly expired.
It leaves a lot left to be desired.
Your classic aftershave signature scent.
The varnish on the pews. . cedar ceilings.
Soft, grey skies. Long-lost relatives’ faces.
How stalled thoughts drift to new and old places.
I slide down to the brown kneeling cushion.
Life keeps ticking like the incense swinging.
Familiarity often brings peace.
But I’m saying “Goodbye” down on my knees.
Here, at a funeral, hearts convalesce.
Lost in thought by the scent of “Full Incense.”

Thanks, Cassa. This was an honest reaction to when I smelled this perfume, which smells exactly like my local Catholic church.

Thanks. I am relatively new to writing the whole fragrance theme on my blog. It can be surprising where a scent can take your mind and your poetry.

Ceremonious bittersweet notes. I love the worded/wooded effect of the aftershave, polishing and shining memories in preparation to pay respect, an adieu, a farewell, there you’ve given poetry to the last goodbye…..the smell of wood and earth is divine, etched in memory it lingers forever. I love the respect you offered to the fragrance.
