Fragrance Poetry inspired by Kalan from Parfums de Marly.

You see every one of my merits
As things to be wanted,
Like imported spices,
Zests, like precious woods
Spritzed with exotic peppers.
And yes, I have the fire,
The passion,
The confidence
To make you happy;
To play your game
– and win.
But, in reality
Iβm more like a blood orange:
When you cut me
I still bleed red
from this heart of gold
So please,
Lend me your affection
Before this heart of gold
hardens to amber.

Thanks. It’s possible to keep giving too much, or keep taking from another, without realizing we are all human π

Thanks. It’s just part of life, that a heart can grow hard if not well tended π but if course I want to give it a fragrant twist

It’s not here often, either. I think it’s from the Mediterranean. But it’s easier to find it in drinks B-)

Beautifully written Jay. Kalan it’s to do with spice right?

Thanks Friend! Do you mean the word Kalan has to do with spice?

Yes. I think there are some kalan recepie. I had a neighbour from Kerela when I was in South, she use to make some kalan recepie. May I’m mistaken but your poem is beautifully writtenπ

Oh it’s probably possible and I bet it tastes delicious. This brand names their fragrances after famous race horses. But it’s possible it’s a spice too π

So true. You know just how to put a good spin on it. Maybe they can take my amber’ed heart and stick it in a museum somewhere like the ones where a mosquito gets stuck in Amber B-)

And what would the plate that they put information in include about the amber’ed heart??

A rare glimpse of a poetic heart that rested on a tree of affection but was soon overwhelmed by it’s golden sap, never to escape
