Small Talk | July 24, 2020

I used to walk a lot in the malls. Good exercise, stay out of the rain (or snow where I live). Plus I catch all the best deals. Once COVID hit though, I started taking nightly walks around the neighborhood which I really enjoyed. Now that malls are opening back up, I’m in a new conundrum: Where to walk?

So where do you like to walk?

      1. Me too, except when nature is brutal. You may never felt a wind chill that literally takes your breathe away when it blows 😳😳😳

      1. Same if it’s winter I’ll prefer at least a cup of hot chocolate while walking… it can be nice if the neighborhood has all their Christmas decorations out. But more often than not. . .I’ll opt to walk at the mall

  1. Our town planning is very different to Europe or America. Parks are far and few between. We have to drive to the Woods and the Forest, so the walk is mainly through the neighbourhood. The mall is strictly business or a coffee shop. Still the drive is scenic, it’s always nice.

    1. It’s often the same here. . . but I am lucky to live within walking distance of a nice park that goes through the woods. Well actually I am within running distance of the whole thing, so I tend to take it for runs B) Glad to know

      1. Yes, great town planning minds where you live, so we have altogether different lifestyles. It’s a scenic walk through the neighbourhood but nothing can beat a park where people meet.

      2. The town which is now the city of the province I live in is over 100 years old it was established in August 1884. As for the suburb I’m living in I can’t really say and if it’s older than yours.

  2. I am fortunate to have a walking trail right outside my back door that connects to miles and miles of a county-wide trail system. The best part is you hardly notice your in the suburbs, it feels quite secluded. Keep on walkin’!

I loved to walk in malls too, especially with an ice cream in hand. Ooooh I miss those carefree days. πŸ’–
Where do you live? You mentioned snow, so curious.
It is quite hot at my end of the world this time. Snow is a luxury I don’t often get to enjoy…

    1. I live in New York. Further up that the city. So we can get snow anytime within 5 months. Where are you from? I’m glad to find another people like me who enjoys walking through the mall, no just outdoors B)

      1. I am from India.
Where I live, there is no snow. Haha. We need to go to hill stations to catch some of those heavenly flakes. πŸ˜…

Mall walking is fun. This silly Corona has ruined everything though. Gosh I wish it is over soon. πŸ’–

  4. Lately, walking is something I’ve been doing more of! I’ve been donating my walking steps to different causes on the Impact App. Beaches (before COVID), hiking trails, the field behind my apartment, I tried 10,000 steps in my bedroom once. Not fun. πŸ™‚
