Is it possible your lips
Could burn my cheeks,
Like the smell
Of green leaves
In a fire, or
Of your black Afghan sweater
Lingering in the back seat of
My car –
Next to where you
Dropped your lipstick,
Like the charred remains
Of our last relationship?
[sic – run-on sentence]
I always knew
You were a little nutty.
You were so expensive,
And what little you gave!
But yet….
Addictive and sweet?
You live by the fire
But
I died by your fire. . .
