“You can’t be bitter
and expect life
to be sweet.”
Within the heart,
my red and ripened fruit,
Are hidden feelings
I knew not I had.
They sprout in secret
from a bitter root.
And what can make
this bad blood obsolete?
From pain, so unresolved,
that grew so bad?
A disappointed soul
now grows unsweet.
I lift my hands and say
“God, take it away.”
Very insightful… thank you for sharing too

THIS is such a complicated page to log into
i just lost my complete comment.
in summary bitterness is wounding.
coming from difficult childhoods the trauma we carry changes our whole outward appearances and dispositions
growing the branches of inferiority, superiority and self- doubt
we hold onto the judgements and they begin to make sense
ravaging our souls
bitterness is wounding
thank you for sharing your tender heart and allowing me to look deep inside of my own soul
amen, only the divine hand of God can make our souls lighter and release the burden of bitterness and bring a smile to our face, changing our appearance as we walk in his light.
