“By the Way,
I think you’re beautiful.”

I dreamt of my lover
who passes by me
Every day
In Spring.

She smells of lilacs,
Dressed in violet,
A soft smile
Always in bloom.

“By the way,
I think you’re beautiful.”

That’s what I’ll tell her
Only in dreams.
Like Lilacs in Summer,
My Lover’s already gone.

Sometimes our love can be such a cliche:
How’s a bottle of that numbered perfume?
Or do you want an old fashioned bouquet?
Yes – Sometimes love can be such a cliche.

The drums – beating in circles – like my heart,
Reminiscing of Eighth Grade Corsages.
Let’s see how love dries down… ….same as the start.
Sometimes soft, sometimes sharp, some time sometimes…

Draw me close, I’ll draw you even closer.
New days develop on a white canvas.
An aromatic’s not automatic.
No, sometimes love is not such a cliche.
