Is it blue, is it bleu, or is it blurred?
Certain things make me feel sad and centered.
. . .mais la vie est belle. . .

I stand tall, imitate the masculine,
just to discover incitement run thin.
. . .mais la vie est belle. . .

Debating with feelings leaves me unsure.
Like I’m stripped down by hot soapy water.
. . .mais la vie est belle. . .

I can only fight emotions so far.
My heart’s been crushed by “L’Invasion Barbare.”

Old, dated notes sometimes hide a secret.
I found this stuffed in my father’s suit-coat.
A recipe, if you will, on leaflet.

‘To begin, add a light touch of citrus.
Every man should uplift his family.
Next, mix in some mellow, floral bouquets,
To know when to be soft and satiny.
And last, most important, hard wood resin.
You’re the foundation: Support naturally.’

The final tip to this scribbled tidbit:
‘Don’t assume outfits will make you a man.
But it’s the real man that makes the outfit.’

My life is like a long, winding highway.
As I drive backroads down to the office,
I notice my morning mind drift away.

Days begin in dark, dense fogs of nothing.
When I reach work, I have to be prime.
I look for something to aid adjusting.

Something bright and yellow – a guiding line.
Something soapy, a clean and clear pathway.
Something strong, a steel bridge sprawling supine.

The final road to discover is this:
Where will life bring me after the “Office.”
