I look into the mirror…
Who am I..?
Like flowers of neroli,
I am pure..?
Like jasmine blooms,
I charm you with my eye..?
Like sandalwood,
I make you feel secure..?

I grew up in the black woods, dense and strong.
The prince of incense, musk and white spice.
Who thieves strike – But not wishing to do wrong –
To steal my gold – which is oud – with their slice.

I’m a forest of black woods – dense and strong.
Incense rises like a fog from within.
Filled with all sorts of musks and white spices,
as smooth, rounded trees stand firm in the wind.

But there are those who wonder and envy.
They saw me ill – infection oozed like sap.
They came to thieve and take my life from me.
Hypnotized by my deep, exotic scents.

Just how much of my “esse” can they rob?
Every drop of me – more precious than gold.
But don’t underrate my virility
It’s vigor that grew me robust and old.

I’m not the dead forest you expected.
I’m fresh and awoken. . . I am “Epic”. . .

I woke up in paradise
Bright and green
A vase of your peonies
By my bed
Perfect moments
Beyond what can be seen
I’m waiting here
For as long as I can

The first moment of the day.
Fresh – Happy – Bright.
The window, slightly open, let’s in
the scent of Green, spicy plants
baking in the soft morning sun.
Those same yellow, mellow beams
stretch from their sleep
across my face.
Next to the bed, a jar of white flowers.
Gently wafting my eyes to close again.
Next to me, my lover still lies.
Precious. . .peaceful.
I try not to disturb.

Today, I woke up in paradise.
I try not to think too much –
I don’t want to ruin this moment
with the cares of to come.
Perfect moments don’t last.
And with day comes night.
But I hold on to moments
like this
As long as I can.
