Poetry inspired by the perfume Black Afgano by Nasomatto.
Is it possible your lips
Could burn my cheeks, Like the smell Of green leaves In a fire, or Of your black Afghan sweater Lingering in the back seat of My car – Next to where you Dropped your lipstick, Like the charred remains Of our last relationship? [sic – run-on sentence] I always knew You were a little nutty. You were so expensive, And what little you gave! But yet…. Addictive and sweet? You live by the fire But I died by your fire. . .

Your hug is like resting down on the grass.
Mixed with sun – citrus – a forever last.
To wake in the morning, here next to you.
So soft and simple – to be in this dream. Under blankets of musk from your perfume. And waiting for a plane – waiting to leave.
A wish you’d be mine to hold – forever.
Desires that circle around my mind. I’ll keep your scent on my skin – wherever – Take me to this special place – any time.
I wonder when – wonder can l see you?
Or just your memory to return to?

Poetry inspired by the perfume Intense Cafe by Montale.
What if, dear, now and here, you stole my heart?
That it happened just as we sit apart?
What-oh-what is mixed in this coffee cup?
A strange elixir that’s altered my brain? Mom would have said these feelings are insane. . . But, my oh my, my minds already made.
Sorry. I must have been thinking out loud.
There’s just a “something” in the air that’s sweet. Before you run away from crazy me, Wonder if it’s not by chance that we meet.
How long till a rose drops its petals?
Life’s too short to give sudden denials.
