Poetry inspired by the perfume Nisean from Parfums de Marly.
Trees are an amalgam
Of green and brown.
Green illustrates growth;
And hardened strength by the brown.
Cut a tree in half, you have
a panorama of my life.
Cover the ends in shellac
And display my story.
Every era – a lifeline, to be exact.
Times that smelled sweet
But soon tasted bitter after that.
Old war horses like me,
We were legends in our own timesLike Niseans.
We came in like lions
But now. . . go out like lambs.
On our way to extinction.
But, on our way back to dust,
we only hope and pray
For new trees to take root
On the ground we’ve lain.

Fragrance Poetry Inspired by Vanilla Smoke from Aftelier.
I fell into a girl named Vanilla
As I tripped into a dream late last night.
She was pink, petite and perfectly sweet.
Down-to-earth with a delicate, soft light.
Have you lolled, half-awoken, in your bed
Smelling cookies baking in the morning?
An aroma gentley flirting with you,
With such anticipated desiring. . .
This is how Vanilla stirs me from sleep:
Like a silky incense raising a prayer:
If this girl that I dreamed of could be mine.
But when I open my eyes, she’s not there.
Girls like Vanilla, they never last long.
Once you want her more, she’s already gone.

Do I get a hug?
Sensations stick to me like taffy
With saffron hairs on edge.
Red passion for embrace
Burns sweetly like cinnamon
To feel your warmth next to me.
